Spiritual Food CSA invites all to work together as a community with a shared consciousness of purpose: first and foremost to heal the soil and the climate, and in so doing create physical, mental and financial health and longevity for families, farmer's and the planet. CSA members pre-pay for a farmer’s harvests. It’s a win-win arrangement that pioneers a new society of giving & receiving as one. And because SFCSA provides Biodynamic food, we are nourished at a level deeper than the physical.
The main supplier is Kimberton CSA, a certified Biodynamic farm in Pennsylvania, and one of the 4 farms that pioneered the CSA movement in the USA over 30 years ago.
3 share types are offered. The main share is vegetables and fruit, about 80% Biodynamic and 20% organic supplemented with: eggs, dried fruit, bread, cheese, grains & legumes in rotation for a rounded out nutritious diet. A Main Share Without Bread and a Veggie/Fruit Only share are also available options.
Add-Ons/Special Orders available. Most popular are eggs, yogurt, bread; extras of some fruit, all dry goods offered and more can be ordered.
Home delivery available to some locations for an additional fee.
Spiritual Food CSA is not a farm but a consumer-based CSA, based on cooperation and environmental stewardship, serving the DC area since 1997. Being consumer based allows support for a good number of small family farmers and artisans and to provide a diverse array of food year-round.
