Cascade Organic is a Portland, Oregon based distributor of organic, sustainable, and regional foods. We carry a broad selection of seafood, meats, mushrooms, wild-foraged items, and produce. Our on-site Urban Farm provides microgreens, edible flowers, and other items of interest. Sourcing is important, and Cascade Organic works with a large number of family farms, native tribes, ranchers, foragers, and fishermen from our area. We work hard to find the best seasonal, and specialty items, as well as top quality kitchen staples, for the many restaurant and wholesale clients we serve. Oregon is well known as a top region in the world for modern organic agriculture, which is why we airfreight ship all across the country!
SHIPPING:
All orders require custom shipping quotes, so there will not be an immediate charge to a customer's card/account. Once we calculate our shipping costs to a location, we update orders with those charges totaled in, to be approved by the buyer.
We can ship any amount of product, but to really save money, large orders are encouraged. Small size/weight orders are generally handled by UPS overnight(around $40-50 base price for any single item or case, and up from there), and large orders via various airfreight service, where the buyer picks up at the airport freight terminal. This method is by far the cheapest way to ship large orders.
We recommend minimum order weights of 70lbs and up for airfreight. Shipping comes in around $1.25-$1.50 per lb once the 70lb threshold is reached. Keep in mind seafood and meat are packed with ice or ice packs, which will add some small additional weight to an item. Another important note: overnight airfreight requires pickup at the airport. Generally every airport has a freight terminal, and the buyer just heads over to the air carrier's booth, and picks up there. We will help with all the details.
NOTES ON PRICING
Some items are priced per lb, but will have minimum weights of 5lbs+ required to place an item in cart; particularly mushrooms as the price per lb can fluctuate with availabilty and weather throughout the season. Some items are priced by the case(poultry, meat), and the per lb price is in the item title. Please note, most meats we offer are NOT portioned out(unless noted), and come as whole cuts. Each whole cut varies in size somewhat, so a listing will have a price per lb, and a minimum order weight, but the final order invoice a buyer recievers with their shipping quote, will show some minor modifications. For instance, our Bone In Pork Loin has a 12/lb minimum order, but the cut we have on hand weighs 11 lbs, then the final invoice bill will show a reduction in price. The reverse occurs as well, where cuts weigh over the average, and price will slightly increase on final bill.
Some prices are negotiable for large quantities of individual items(generally $500+), large weekly or monthly standing orders, and for wholesale distribution businesses, like ourselves. We can also generally source anything a buyer is looking for, not on our list, at no charge for the service.
PROCESSING
In general, orders will take 2-5 business days to process before shipping. Many of our items are ordered as needed to ensure maximum freshness direct from the farm/field/sea, and to reduce time in storage. We keep all buyers updated on status of airfreight shipments. All our product is shipped out of our warehouse facility, just outside of Portland, Oregon. Cascade Organic is a FDA and state inspected HACCP operation, so you can be sure your product will be packed and shipped safely.
