This deciduous citrus is the only citrus which can grow outdoors in our bioregion. Small, round, and fuzzy-skinned, these bitter oranges look and are different from your common orange. Nor do they look the same on the inside: they are seedy and without much juice. Despite this, they are super aromatic and very concentrated in flavor. They make a superb, medicinal tea (with ginger), and add complex flavor to stews and sauces.
