I raise 100% grassfed cattle and sheep on 85 beautiful acres in eastern Frederick County. I nourish the soil, plants, wildlife and livestock, while drawing carbon out of the air by moving the cattle daily to a new section of pasture, and using only health-promoting farming methods, which allows the whole ecosystem to glow with health. I also raise my two children, who enjoy this paradise and the life-giving foods.
Grazy Days Family Farm is a mother and daughter run eco-farm on 85 acres in beautiful Eastern Frederick County, MD. We raise 100% grass-fed and finished beef and lamb. We do not use any toxic chemicals, antibiotics, etc. We want our animals to live their lives as close to nature's way as possible. While they do have access to a barn for shelter, they also always have access to the outdoors (except in the case of blizzards or other dangerous weather). During the grazing season they are rotated (daily for the cows, less often for the sheep) to fresh salad bars of vital, diverse pastures. Our goal is to raise delicious, nutrient-dense food from happy animals while improving the ecosystem on our farm through regenerative agriculture. To encourage regeneration, we planted a diverse mix of seeds including chicory and plantain as well as many species of grass and clover when we purchased this farm and took it out of chemical mono-cropping 11 years ago. We have also planted hundreds of trees so far (with more on the way), in order to add food sources for humans and wildlife, shade for the animals, natural beauty, and a more resilient and varied biome.
