Celebrating our 30th Anniversary as the oldest continually owned and operated Bed & Breakfast in the Area!
Visits led by retired international broadcaster Phil Irwin will focus on conservation strategies, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection programs and best management practices. Phil is founder of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (1970), last living Piedmont Environmental Council founder (1972), and donor of Rappahannock County's first open space easement. He serves on the board of Scenic Virginia.
Caledonia is a 115 acre beef cattle farm, a 31 year old farmstay, green bed & breakfast, and stop #1 on Virginia's unique birding & wildlife trail. Guests may catch & release in the stocked conservation pond, wander pastures surrounded by 2 miles of stone wall fencing adjacent to the Shenandoah National Park and enjoy incomparable scenery and dark skies later.
Rate per couple is still only $140. Numerous farmer's markets, pick-your-owns, farm to table activities and custom growers are nearby. History, hospitality, environmental preservation and fresh, healthy food await your visit to Caledonia Farm, all within driving distance of Washington DC and Richmond VA.
All rooms have air conditioning, working fireplaces, individual heat and a spectacular view of the Skyline Drive atop Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.
A full candlelight breakfast of eggs benedict, smoked salmon, custom omelets etc. is served at any hour of choice.
